IU Graduate Students in UGS Programs
The thesis or dissertation is the highlight of your academic journey. As a graduate student, this is your chance to use everything you've learned and make a meaningful contribution to your field.
Completing a thesis or dissertation can take a long time, sometimes months or even years. It's one of the final steps to earning your graduate degree.
At IU Indianapolis, master's students complete theses, while doctoral students complete dissertations. Each has its own set of rules, including formatting and deadlines, and there are different ways to submit them. Doctoral dissertations also require a defense.
By joining The Graduate Student Writing Group, you can get feedback on your work, build your skills, discuss ideas with peers, and set aside time to write. Email pffp@iu.edu to join.
The IU Graduate School Indianapolis will make forms or documents available to those who cannot access them via this website. Please contact iuindy.graduate@iu.edu to request the document you wish to see.
