Description of the video:
Graduate program here at IU Indianapolis is different from other institutions because the programs are tailored to the student. You have core classes of course, but the majority of the duration of the program can be tailored to a concentration of your choosing if you make it into your own experience. It is more enjoyable because of this, and so that is why I chose to pursue a PhD program at IU Indianapolis. Something about the campus that stood out after I joined is how big it is on diversity and inclusion. The faculty here, they are not just teachers. They are active researchers. They are creators. They are collaborators. I was really excited to work alongside them. What I really liked about the IU School of Medicine is it offered an umbrella called the IBMG program for students who want to pursue biomedical science. I think that really helped me understand what skills I have and what I want to pursue in the future. So having the flexibility of an umbrella program really helped me develop myself as a scientist. This is one of the biggest reasons that I accepted the offer from IU School of Medicine. I really value the time I've been able to commit to the graduate students and to this campus as a whole through various organizations that I'm part of. I also really enjoy being able to attend conferences around the US or even abroad to share my research with my peers.
And lastly, I really enjoy being able to teach undergraduate students, whether it's in the lab or in undergraduate classes or incoming freshmen to IU. IU Indianapolis has greatly prepared me for my future career through both academic and practical experiences that I need. Through community engagement, internships, and research opportunities, I'm confident that I have the skills needed to enter a career program.
School might seem daunting when you first start, but as you get a hold of your place at IU, in your classes, in your department, or in your lab, you'll really find a hold here.

Both places that are my top two serve two different purposes. The 1st is the Graduate Commons in the University Library, and this I like for studying and for writing. It is mostly graduate students who use that spot, and so it's usually a productive place to be and I can usually focus. It's quiet and I get a ton of work done there. The other place is in the campus center. If it's not too hot outside, I like to go on the 4th floor and go outside and you can overlook the campus when you're out there and see some parts of the city. You get the fresh air and it's just a nice place to be to hang out with friends or just to relax. I'm usually there when I'm waiting in between meetings or just waiting on my friends. If it's too hot, I'll just go in the campus center and I usually like the 4th floor because it's a little bit more quiet there and that's where I meet up with my friends or I'll have a meal there just to share and catch up with them.Favorite place on campus is National Institute Fitness. It's right, it's right on campus and it's student parking available. It offers discounted rates for student membership. There's a gym, there's an indoor track. There's a lot to do there. I can go and see my friends and just after a long day of classes and studying, I think there's no better way to relieve some stress. White River State Park, there you can walk them, canal, you can go and enjoy. Go to the zoo nearby. It's a great opportunity just to go and see the beautiful parts that Indy has to offer. I really enjoy, I really enjoy going reading on the on the the White River. There's a little area that's great to sit and enjoy your time there.
